Advances in synthesis and characterization of dielectric, piezoelectric and ferroelectric skinny movies are integrated during this quantity. Dielectric, piezoelectric and ferroelectric skinny movies have a big impression on a number of advertisement and armed forces structures together with tunable microwave units, thoughts, MEMS units, actuators and sensors. contemporary paintings on piezoelectric characterization, AFE to FE dielectric part transformation dielectrics, answer and vapor deposited skinny motion pictures, and fabrics integration are one of the issues integrated. Novel methods to nanostructuring, characterization of fabric houses and actual responses on the nanoscale is also included.Content:

Katiyar* Department of Physics, University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, PR 00931,US A ABSTRACT Nanostructures of microwave dielectric (Ba,Sr)Ti03 were prepared by a chemical solution decomposition route and a template assisted sol-gel route respectively. The two dimensional nanostructures exhibited a uniform and nearly monodispersed size, which was a strong function of the substrate. There seemed to be a mixture of particles with different orientations that was present in the thicker films also. The three-dimensional self-assembly showed interesting structures with promising optical characteristics.

3. % Bi excess. and 5 the number of modes of all films cannot fulfil the selection rule and this may be due to broken symmetry, mode-overdamping and mode-overlapping making some modes unidentified. % Bi excess are very different. % Bi excess is less than that with Bi excess. % Bi excess film are overdamped and highly shifted while the dampings of those modes of films with Bi excess are decreased. These two features can be explained by our SEM study as follows. In Fig. % Bi excess film suggests a symmetry breaking effect.

8,11. Comparing this mode with that in single crystal,11 this mode in thin film is usually lower than that of single crystal because of the existence of residue stress in thin films. % Bi excess films thus possibly indicates a stress relaxation. 12,14 The appearance of this mode does not depend on the point group symmetry of the ciystal but is a consequence of the weakness of the interlayer bonding12 and thus this mode can be observed in both ferroelectric and paraelectric phases. % Fig. 5. %) BIT films.
